Lip Blushing

Lip blushing is a semi permanent cosmetic tattoo achieved by depositing pigments in your lips using small needles. Not to be confused with traditional tattoo art, lip blush is a cosmetic enhancement that alters both the color and shape of your lips.

    Why get lip blush?

Everyone’s lips are different, and there’s no one standard of beauty. But if you would like to change the appearance or color of your lips, you may be interested in lip blush.

How long does lip blush last?

Expect to see full results in about a month. You may want to come in for a follow-up appointment at this time to assess your results. A touch-up session may be required after a couple of months to achieve the precise color you want.

The lip blush treatment can be repeated every few years to maintain  results.

Frequent lip exfoliation, sun exposure, and smoking can all make the pigment fade quicker.

    Pre-treatment care

    • Avoid taking naproxen, ibuprofen or aspirin beforehand, as well as supplements like fish oil, garlic, gingko, and vitamin E, all of which can increase bleeding and bruising.
    • Do not work out 48 hours before your treatment.
    • Avoid alcohol, caffeine and stimulants 48 hours before your treatment.
    • Avoid sun and tanning one week prior to procedure.

    Post-treatment care

    • Do not bandage your lips; let them air-dry for best results.
    • Treat swelling and redness with ice or a cold compress.
    • Do not pick at scabs — this may cause scarring and uneven tone as your lip tattoo heals.
    • Place petroleum jelly on your lips for relief and protection.
    • Avoid workouts for 4-5 days.
    • Avoid direct sun exposure.
    • Avoid sun bathing, saunas and tanning beds for 30 days post treatment.

The best way to know if you are a good candidate for lip blushing is to set up a consultation, where you can ask questions and learn more about the treatment.

We also offer Lip Neutralization which is a gradual process to lighten naturally darker lips.
